Welcome to All Japan Skateboard Association's website!
All Japan Skateboard Association was founded in March of 1982 by
skateboarders as an entity not to be influenced by interests or trend of the time,
for skateboarding and skateboarders.
We experienced difficult periods in the past through recession and
difficulty in finding suitable personnel. Around 1995, however, we started
restructuring the organization and now regularly organize contests and
various officially approved activities.
While in Japan one always tends to compare what's going on here with that
in the USA and other countries, we believe it important to maintain Japan's
own culture and develop each skateboarder's own individuality to finally
get them to the level of those in leading countries, by raising the skills
of individual skateboarders, making the market mature, and increasing the
cultural level of skateboarding both as a sport and as a leisure.
Representing Japan's skateboard industry, we became a non-profit entity in
2005 and even better prepared and increased the fields of our activity to
cope with various operations. It is our primary mission to contribute to the
popularization of the great sport of skateboarding both in Japan and overseas.
We are sorry for the inconvenience that at the moment the website is only in
Japanese. AJSA is striving to work as a general information desk for skateboarding
in Japan.
